Meet the Bike Instructors.

Karl - I am 43 years young, I've been riding bikes for around 39 years
having come from a farming background. I've taken my spills over the
years the same as anyone but I learn quickly and have always strived
to improve my own skills, as I still do. I have been a motorcycle riding
instructor since early 2001 and truly enjoy what I do. I like meeting
new people and enjoy the challenges arising from my work. I now strive
to improve the skills of the people I help through their tests. I take
great pride in my work and have probably trained in excess of 1500 people
of varying abilities to well beyond the standard required for their
tests. I employ a "no nonsense" approach which gives excellent
results and a pass rate which is second to none. Many of my ex-pupils
have become good friends too so hey, I can't be such a bad guy I guess.
Outside work I enjoy a quiet home life and ride as many miles as possible
both alone and in small groups of friends with and without pillion.
For my own bike I ride a Kawasaki ZX12R or a Yamaha XJR1300 depending
on how I'm feeling at the time. I also enjoy off road riding and have
a couple of bikes suited to these pursuits. I live in the countryside
and love the peace and quiet it gives me after spending my working day
riding in various traffic situations. The instructors who work with
me were personally trained by me from the start and are also of exceptionally
high standard. Had they not been up to scratch, they would have been
cast aside to make way for more able ones. I work only with people who
are willing to improve and have the ability to benefit others, so you
can be sure of high quality training.
Jeremy, or Jez as he prefers to be called, passed his test with my help
about 5 years ago but had ridden for some time prior to that on smaller
capacity bikes both on and off road. When he was taking lessons it became
apparent that he was a friendly and approachable man who was already
a fairly competent rider. Since passing his test he has owned two GSXR600s
and also a GSXR1000 which he truly adored. He bike shares with his wife
(also an ex pupil) just for now and is saving to buy himself another
bike having traded his in for a new boiler. (Hmm poor trade in I'd say).
Jez only does CBT and 125 lessons just now but is also looking to advance
into DAS instruction in the future. He is an easy going sort of guy
with a good calm demeanor which helps to set nervous trainees at ease.
He is also a local lad having been brought up in Scarborough and so
has a very good knowledge of the area with many interesting routes for
CBT. In short then, Jez is a genuine nice guy with plenty of ability
to iron out the problems that are typical to our trade.
Paul (Bomber) - Paul has been riding bikes since he was 5 years old
and passed his test when he was 19. Paul worked in the food industry
till he was 34 then he decided to take up being a motorcycle instructor
which he has been doing now for over 7 years. Paul owns a Hayabusa which
he loves but hardly rides and also has a 600 Bandit which he uses as
his work bike. He is, in his own right a very able and competent
rider and as such has a wealth of knowledge to pass on. He
has a very good knowledge of ALL AREAS and is very calm in his approach
to his training. He employs a few methods of instruction which he has
designed and perfected himself and achieves excellent results. Paul
is a very intelligent man who uses his head and sees problems and their
solutions very well. He has a knack of being able to address any problems
and thoroughly enjoys bringing out the best in ANY
rider.
