Direct Access - Full Bike Licence (Big Bike License).
All courses are a guide only and as different people learn at different
speeds, courses may, by mutual agreement be tailored to suit you. We
work to develop your riding skills as an individual within the guidelines
of tried and tested systems, developed over 20 years- we have & continue
to train much of our local competition. We are your areas premiere Government
approved Bike Training School- why accept second best- train with the
best- at a price you can afford!
Before starting any course we offer a 2hrs assessment lesson thus enabling
us to accurately assess the level of training required. We then
tailor the course to suit your requirements- not
the other way around!
Remember all our training is given on a one to one basis so that you can have the full attention of your instructor at all times. Any exceptions to this would ALWAYS be cleared with you first and would only be under exceptional circumstances.
At Age 21 plus, you can start training on 125cc bikes then move up to
finish your course and take your test on a 500cc bike. Sometimes
trainees are competent enough to cope with the larger capacity machines
from the start and as such may complete all of their training on a 500.
You will need to be accompanied by a specially qualified DAS instructor. Both
myself and Paul are DAS approved instructors. When you pass your direct
access test you can ride any bike of any size and power. There is no
two year wait.
The Direct Access test is split into two parts which we would advise
you to take on different days for reasons which will soon become apparent.
Module 1- This is carried out on Sunday seperately
from your training - this reduces the fatige/tiredness some students
might feel- ensuring you are fresh for your test. There are a number
of "onsite" control skills you are expected to demonstrate to gain your
big bike licence. We develop your skills and understanding to a level
where your will successfully take and pass this part of the Driving
Standard Agencies part 1 test. You will not take the test without the
correct level of training- we want you to pass first time. We are proud
of our high success rate.
Module 2- This is usually taken on a Friday and wherever
possible within the same week as your Module 1 test. Our training
prepares you for a variety of riding conditions based on Weather,Road, road
users and other obstacles one might encounter on Britains roads. Our
aim is simple- to ensure you are safe to yourself and others while on
the road. Again we are proud of our high pass rates and regularly have
pupils pass their tests having picked up no rider faults at all out
of a possible 15 that are allowed.
We would always advise you to supply your own helmet, gloves etc, but
equipment can be supplied if required at no extra cost.
The Direct Access Scheme (DAS- Big Bike) can be taken on automatics
of above 46.6 BHP- We can tailor a course for you here too.
